I mostly use Oil's, especially with flowers because they are so soft and subtle. However it can be easy to get bogged down blending the colours and tone of each flower and petal. I wanted energy in this painting so chose acrylic's because I know you have to work quickly, with very little time for blending. So these are not really wild flowers, but compared to the usual staid floral still life, they are definitely wild, and not still!
