I love playing with colour and shapes, with thick rich brush strokes. Emphasised with a dark key line. This Canvas is rough with texture and plenty of character from previous paintings. When inspiration strikes I have to paint on anything I have handy, and no old paintings are safe.
"Roundabout" is energetic and playful, built from overlapping, rounded shapes that interlock across the surface. Thick, dark blue outlines define each form, giving the composition a bold, graphic structure reminiscent of stained glass or mosaic.
The color palette is vibrant and lively—turquoise, aqua, lime green, soft lavender, peach, hot pink, and bright yellow all weave together. The shapes curve and intersect in a circular, almost swirling motion, creating a sense of movement and rhythm, as if the forms are tumbling or orbiting around one another.
The visible brush texture adds a tactile quality, softening the crisp outlines and bringing warmth to the bright colors. Overall, the painting feels dynamic and joyful, with a strong sense of flow and connection between the shapes.
