Although not my first fish painting, this is the first time I tried removing the paint, instead of adding paint to create the fish. I was trying to capture the fleeting movement, and deep translucent colours of these underwater scenes. It worked, and I have continued developing this technique ever since. Looking back at this first one, I feel that sometimes I over-develop my more recent fish paintings.
