I love letting the paint do its own thing. I deliberately covered this canvas with all sorts of rough, random textures, then let various types of paint drip down the canvas from opposite edges. This resulted is lots of wonderful patterns, and mixtures that could not be purposely manufactured. I was using so much paint that it even lifted the label from one of my paint brushes, and it slipped onto the canvas. And, I left it there...a happy accident perhaps? (see photo) Some artists carefully remove the finest paint brush bristles from their work, but I feel these elements are part of the artwork, and show the process of making the art.
I love this painting, it has so much to look at, and the unusual colours are a very interesting mix that seem to somehow work well together.
