I have been painting fish and underwater scenery for a while now, but this one is a bit different. It was originally a typical painting of fish flicking around in the ocean with the sun beaming through. But, I felt it was too dark, so put it aside for a year or so. Recently I decided to cut my losses and paint over it and start afresh, but, in a moment of inspiration I decided to paint a stroke of seagrass... and I liked it. So, I kept going and it gave the painting the life that it needed. A few more highlight fish and it was done, finally. This is not so much an ocean scene, but maybe an estuary scene. I liked it so much I even framed it. .
