From my Mid-Century inspired Modernist series, Come Fly With Me embodies a confident balance between structure and spontaneity. The composition is formed from a single, continuous flow of dark brown paint—an uninterrupted, meandering line that weaves across the surface like an automatic drawing. This gestural framework becomes both boundary and backbone, dividing the canvas into interlocking organic shapes.
The flowing line introduces a sense of movement and lift, echoing the title’s suggestion of flight. There’s a dynamic push and pull between tension and ease, as the forms expand and contract within the network of curves and intersections.
The palette reinforces the Mid-Century aesthetic through off-beat, earthy tones—muted olive greens, warm terracottas, soft sage, dusky rose, and deep forest hues—punctuated with confident red accents. These grounded colours lend warmth and sophistication while allowing the bold linear structure to remain the focal point.
Balancing geometric suggestion with organic fluidity, Come Fly With Me feels both playful and composed. It celebrates line as movement, colour as atmosphere, and modernist simplicity as a timeless visual language.
