I have always been inspired by the colour and movement of schools of fish, and at times have thought that my colours were too pretty, and intense. But a recent photo sent to me by a boating friend of a school of fish off the back of his boat showed me that the real life colours were in fact brighter, bolder and more electric than I had ever been game to paint. So, that photo has encouraged me to pour as much pure, bright colour into my fish paintings.
This painting is a re-work of my painting "Deep Blue". The highlight fish added to give it the lift that it needed.
