I woke one morning with this image in my head. It was a very strong, clear image and I had to try and paint it. I didn't have a canvas, but I was so compelled to paint this that I couldn't resist painting over a previous work. The textures from the previous painting can still be seen. The end result is almost exactly as I imagined it, in a classic complimentary colour scheme of green and red. However one small lump of paint from the previous painting was distracting my eye from the obvious focal point of the flash of red. I decided to scrape this piece off the canvas, and it magically revealed bright red from the previous painting. It was meant to be, so I left it. See close up photo.
I have included some photos of what this painting would like like in timber, or black frame.
