Firstly, I am not Aboriginal, and this is NOT an Aboriginal design, it is not intended to be, it is just me playing with paint and colour. It has no meaning, however it does have a story. This painting started off completely different to what you now see. The original idea, and painting was not working, and while the paint was wet on the canvas, I started moving the colours around in hope that something might come of it. Hence the title, "Clutching At Straws". Once I saw the shapes and colours starting to appear, I continued with the momentum of the work and ended up with a painting I really liked.
