Inspiration.
Inspiration comes to me constantly. Whether it be scenes or objects I see from day to day in my travels around my town, or the constant visual stimulation from social media images. Not only do I see so much, but each image leads to another idea, or variation of that image. I can’t imagine ever suffering from artists block, in fact I feel the complete opposite, I have too many ideas, and not enough time to get them all onto canvas. If, for whatever reason I have no idea what to paint, all I have to do is splash some paint onto a canvas, and let the paint lead the way.
This does cause a problem of a lack of focus, and I try to hone my vision(s), but I do believe in painting in the moment. The energy is apparent in a painting that is freshly painted from a burst of inspiration, rather than a contrived, planned in advance piece.
